Anterior shoulder dislocation with nerve injuries
Brachial plexus injuries represent a minority of cases, yet they stand out as some of the most serious complications arising from shoulder dislocation. This pathology bears the potential to inflict harm upon adjacent neural structures through various pathways. The orientation of the limb at the time of dislocation has been observed to play a role in determining the location of nerve impairment. The axillary nerve is the primary neural casualty linked to shoulder dislocation, both in instances of isolated nerve damage and when concomitant injuries involving multiple nerves are taken into account.
