The Dangers of Vaping

As this is a relatively new trend, there are medical and cultural implications which are just recently being investigated. Vaping provides new users with a better experience when compared to the first time smoking cigarettes or even considered a healthy way to quit. The study from Missouri looks into potential risks. Firstly, the chemical composition of products vary greatly and is not regulated. The breakdown of heated propylene glycol include formaldehyde that is a known carcinogen, causing 5 to 15 times higher lifetime risk of cancer. As for the flavorings, some research is demonstrating those have a cytotoxic effect. Secondly, there are device-specific concerns, as unregulated manufacturing process and basic design. The long term effects of metals used for a heating element are still unknown. As such, the perception that vaping is safe is changing.
