Application of Virtual Reality Technology in Clinical Practice, Teaching, and Research
The rapid evolution of digital technology has allowed novel solutions for applications of virtual reality (VR) in healthcare and research. Covid pandemic also became an important factor for stimulation of such progress. VR has already been successfully applied in anxiety disorders treatment, alleviating fear, pain management and physical recovery. This technology also has revolutionized medical education, giving the ability to have a hands-on experience for students. Virtual diagnostics is another field of application. Furthermore, VR can facilitate data collection during such challenging times as pandemic to monitor progress and valuable information, while reducing the infection rates. However, despite rapid development, this new method needs standardization to be reliable for the patients and public.
