Application of Internet of Things and Sensors in Healthcare

The smarter our gadgets are, the more connected they become. A digitalization created a new world of technologies and applications that are being applied in healthcare as well. One of those is the Internet of Things (IoTs)- a large network of interconnected devices that store and collect data about their nearby environment. A recent article published in Sensor journal gives a perspective on why these innovations can be beneficial for patient care and treatment. Elements on IoT include: identification, communication, services, semantic, computation and sensing. How this can help? It is a technology for data transfer over interrelated networks without human interruption, meaning that patient can share health-related data with a specific medical doctor in real time. Such IoT applications are getting implemented to our every day life, overcoming healthcare system challenges.
