Fracture Dislocations of the Proximal Interphalangeal Joint

PIP fracture dislocations are classified into three groups based upon the morphology of the middle phalanx fracture. Another classification system is based upon the percent of joint surface involvement, clinical stability, and the position of the fracture fragments after reduction.
