Garlic effects on human health
Previous comprehensive analyses and recent clinical investigations have underscored the efficacy of garlic supplements, notably the Kyolic aged garlic extract, in diminishing blood pressure among patients grappling with uncontrolled hypertension. This effect mirrors the impact of primary standard anti-hypertensive medications. A considerable percentage—up to 62%—of individuals under standard blood pressure treatment endure adverse reactions encompassing fatigue, cold extremities, parched mouth, lightheadedness, headaches, and myalgia. This high incidence accentuates the urgent requirement for a more manageable alternative therapeutic approach.
In pursuit of such an alternative, Australian researchers embarked on a trial. Their findings unveiled that a regimen of 2 capsules daily of Kyolic aged garlic extract yielded a noteworthy reduction in average blood pressure levels, amounting to 10 mmHg systolic and 5 mmHg diastolic, attainable within a span of 2 to 3 months. Furthermore, their in-depth analysis incorporating 12 trials involving 553 adults diagnosed with elevated blood pressure revealed a significant inclination towards reduced systolic blood pressure (SBP) with the supplementation of garlic. Notably, apart from its impact on blood pressure, Kyolic aged garlic extract has also exhibited the capability to regulate blood viscosity, suggesting a broader spectrum of potential benefits beyond hypertension management.
