UEGW 2026 – United European Gastroenterology Week, Barcelona

Key facts

UEG Week 2026, the 34th United European Gastroenterology Week, takes place from 17 to 20 October 2026 at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain, and online. The four-day congress brings together digestive health experts from around the world to share multidisciplinary research, alongside the Postgraduate Teaching (PGT) programme.

According to the organizers, sessions are interactive, with real-time Q&A for both in-person and virtual attendees. Free hands-on training in endoscopy and ultrasound lets participants watch, ask questions and practise under expert guidance; registration for the Endoscopy Hands-on Programme and the Workshop on Endoanal Ultrasound opens on 12 October at 10:00 CEST. The Digestive Disease Mechanism (DDM) Summit, focused this year on the cellular drivers of inflammation, is designed for basic scientists but open to all in-person participants.

A Nurse Programme offers lectures, workshops, abstracts and posters, with full congress access at a reduced fee. On site in Barcelona, the Community Programme brings together experts, journal editors, researchers and patient organisation representatives for informal discussions, alongside Women in GI Networking, Let's Meet sessions for young associates and an industry exhibition of pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The next edition, UEG Week 2027, is scheduled for 16–19 October 2027 at Bella Center Copenhagen, Denmark.
