SCCM 2027 is the 56th Critical Care Congress of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, which the organizers describe as the largest multiprofessional critical care event. The three-day main meeting is preceded by two days of pre-Congress education, and the programme is designed for the entire multiprofessional critical care team.

The 2027 programme centres on practical bedside strategies and on recent advances in artificial intelligence, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), mechanical ventilation and airway management. Hands-on courses cover critical care ultrasound, airway and ventilator management, ECMO simulation run by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization, advanced shock management, VitalTalk communication skills and the safe use of AI in critical care. Abstract and case report presentations, industry education and an exhibit hall complete the agenda.

Participants can earn accredited continuing education credit and maintenance of certification (MOC) points; the organizers will publish the details once the programme is finalised. Recorded sessions are released through Congress Digital on the LearnICU platform 30 days after the meeting. Access is included with in-person registration and can also be bought separately by those who do not attend. SCCM members register at reduced rates.
